As for the data charges, I suggest calling and talking to their retention department (call and say you want to cancel your service, you'll get transferred to them). It so happens that both my router at home and the ones at work are dual-band, so I pulled out my old Linksys 2.4GHz G router at home. If anybody found any solution pls share as its really irritating.. Tonight I will try to disable the wifi power saving mode and see if it helps. The Service mode thing has worked for me thank you sooo sooo much, I have been having this problem since i got the phone from about a month after it was On other routers I have not encountered this issue. Does the S3 automatically switch to using the WiFi connection when connected to it or should I switch my data services off first?
just sharing what worked. I have also tried factory resetting both my phone and my router - no luck. So one, two or all three of these fixes may work for users experiencing any of the Samsung Galaxy S III Wi-Fi connections issues.
